WE ARE OPENING ACCESS to registration for the 80th annual African Chess Championship 2019 (www.africanchesschampionship.com) in Accra, Ghana, from July 25 to August 14, 2019.

This year we are taking place in Ghana, in the capital city of Accra, and once again we are bringing together a tremendous line-up of Ghanaian and African players from across the continent, as well as from around the world. And once again we are inviting players of all standards to take part.

The top players qualify to play in this event and the winners of the three group stages will go into the competition at the semi-finals stage.

Participants receive a lunch, dinner and a wonderful accommodation package, the cost of which is covered. All expenses are shared between participant and organisers.

There are three main categories for this year’s competition:

· The 1st category : the elite players are able to spend a month in Ghana on a special accomodation plan, providing a memorable and unforgettable experience in the country of their choice. Players will leave the 1st category if they decide to sit out the entire competition.

· The 2nd category : this category is open to players of all levels.

· The 3rd category : this category is open to young players who have not yet completed their training but desire to participate in this one-month competition.
